Mercedes Rincón was born on October 6, 1937, in Indé, Durango, and passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015, in Fresno, CA, at the age of 77. She fought a courageous battle against breast cancer for 21 years.
Mercy was the eighth of ten children. She grew up in Juarez, Mexico, and at the age of 16, she immigrated with her family to Fresno. She was a graduate of Edison High School.
Mercy was a full time pioneer minister of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 30 years, and taught hundreds of people the truth in God's word, the Bible.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joseph Rincón; son, René Rincón and wife Martha; daughter, Monica R. Mata and husband Jaime; and her four grandchildren, Jonathan Rincón, Jael Rincón, Jordan Mata and Jeovany Mata. She is also survived by her brother, Antonio Ochoa; sisters, Rosa Ochoa, and Elena Sandoval; and many nephews and nieces she dearly loved.
The family expresses their profound gratitude to her doctors, Dr. Leonard Thomas Hackett; Dr. Robert Louis Bennett Jr.; Dr. Rendoll Concepción; Dr. Robert Salazar, and their caring staff. The family also expresses their thanks to the caregivers, Monica Andrade, Eva Elizaldi, and Rufina Jarquín.
Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Friday, August 28, 2015, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall, 4095 W. McKinley, Fresno, CA, on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. Burial immediately following at Belmont Memorial Park. There will be gathering of family and friends at International Catering, 4277 N. West Ave., Fresno, CA, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
