Mary was born in Fresno, California to parents Antonio and Giulia Luccardo on October 23, 1921. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on October 18, 2021. Mary married the love of her life, John Romagnoli Sr. on May 5, 1940. She and John were owners of Allstate Sanitary Company, established in 1957. Mary was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Altar Society and received the Regina Caeli Award in 1996. She was also a member of the Italian Catholic Federation and the California Farm Bureau.
Mary was an excellent cook and celebrated the holidays with her entire family on one very long table in her kitchen. She was known for her homemade spaghetti sauce, tender gnocchi, amazing biscotti and delicious homemade pies. Mary and John purchased a Santa Cruz vacation home in 1982 which the family has enjoyed for many years. As a devoted Catholic, she practiced her faith and love of Our Lord on a daily basis. Mary will always be remembered for her gentle ways, sweet smile and unconditional love of her family.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband John Romagnoli Sr., siblings, Elsie Tori of Santa Cruz and Louie Luccardo of Fresno and grandson, Greg Romagnoli of Fresno.
She is survived by her children, Julie Sabbatini and her husband LeRoy, John Romagnoli Jr. and his wife Elaine, Bernadette Jones and her husband Ed, and Janice Andreasen and her husband Rod; grandchildren, Rod Sabbatini, Tina Carey, Tom Romagnoli, Eddie Jones Jr., Kristen Battles and Jonathan Andreasen; great-grandchildren, Michael Sabbatini, Danielle Sabbatini, Ryan Carey, Megan Carey, Lucas Romagnoli, Gianna Romagnoli, Mia Romagnoli, Blake Jones, Brielle Jones, and Julia Battles.
The family would like to acknowledge the excellent service provided by Bright Horizon Hospice, especially the wonderful, loving care given by Sally, Evette and Roxanne.
