Mrs. Olivas was born in Tucson, AZ on June 4, 1928 to Ramon and Celia Ahumada. She passed away on October 18,2022 at the age of 94. Mary Lou met Manuel Olivas, of Tucson, AZ and they married on March 13, 1949. They resided in both Tucson, AZ and Fresno, CA where they raised nine children.
She worked as an Agricultural Farm Laborer for 40+ years. She retired in 1991 to be a full-time Grandma
and spend more time with her family. She loved being a spectator at her children's and grandchildren's sports events.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Celia; husband, Manuel Sr.; brothers, Fred, Gene and Frankie Ahumada; sister Norma Cadena; daughter Mary Ann Martinez and grandson George (Gilbert) Alvarez Jr. Mary Lou is survived by her sons and daughters; Manuel Olivas Jr. and wife Becky, son-in-law, Richard Martinez, Yolanda Alvarez and husband George, John Olivas and wife Diane, George Olivas and wife Mary Lou, Rebecca Torres and husband Ben, Linda Vivian and husband Jeff, Samuel Olivas Sr. and wife Valerie, Kathy Reynaga and fiancee Rudy Sandoval, her brothers; Hector Ahumada and his wife Gloria, Alex Ahumada and wife Cruz, and Joe Ahumada and wife Gloria, 33 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.
A visitation for Mary will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory, 2838 N West Ave, Fresno, CA 93705. A recitation of holy rosary will follow at 12:00 p.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Interment will then follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
