Marlene was born on December 5, 1941, to Albert and Marie Schmall two days before Pearl Harbor. Marlene grew up near Biola, Ca. She was a Future Farmer of America Sweetheart and graduated from Central High School.
In 1960, Marlene gave birth to her only child, Randolph. She worked at Bank of America in Fresno. In 1964, she married Jim Dufur and at this time he adopted Randy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Marie Schmall; and her husband Jim, of 48 years.
Marlene is survived by her loving son, Randolph James Dufur; her sister, Karen Torrano; her niece, Tammy Torrano Kirby and her husband Dennis.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Monday, October 15, 2012, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Followed by interment at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
Remembrances may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
