On June 20, 2023, Marjorie Berke Peters passed away due to natural causes in Fresno Ca. She was 89 years old. Marji was born in Denver Colorado to Martin Berke and Mable Amodt Berke. She was preceded in death by her husband Pete, sisters Avis, Eddie Lou, Doris, and brother Bob. She is survived by her children Duane, Kristy, Karen and Dave, and grandchildren Casey, Sabrina, Erik and Torrey. Marji and her family left Denver and moved around the country as Pete was transferred to different positions. The family settled permanently in Fresno in 1966. Once the children were old enough Marji went back to school earning a degree, teaching credential and master's degree. She began teaching elementary school children and taught for 25 years. She will be greatly missed by many.
A visitation for Marjorie will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, California 93720. A funeral service will occur Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, California 93720. A graveside service will occur Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 South Cornelia Ave, Fresno, California 93706.
