Lydia worked at Roma Winery of Fresno. She was also proud to say she was a Rosie the Riveter during World War II. That is where she met her husband Bernard. She was a wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard T. Vasquez; her son, Bernard Vasquez; and her daughter, Ruth Ann Bates.
Lydia is survived by her sons, Greg Vasquez, Frank Vasquez and wife Diane; daughter, Yolanda Vasquez DuPont and husband Chuck; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral home on Thursday, February 5, 2015, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, February 6, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
