Lillian was the youngest of 11 children, born to Johannes and Elizabeth Reitz Felsing on March 28, 1926. The family was of German Russian descent from Au Gres, MI. She and her siblings worked on the family farm, harvesting string beans and sugar beets for sale.
In 1943, she moved to Fresno to live with her sister and completed her last semester of high school at Edison High School. She met Roy in 1945, and in June of 1947, they were married. Children came along in 1948, and 1951. Once her two children were old enough, she began working as a cook for Fresno Unified School District, and worked for them for about 10 years. When Roy was transferred to Long Beach, CA in 1970, she began working as a volunteer at a Long Beach hospital. In 1982, Roy and Lillian moved back to Fresno and lived here for the remainder of their lives, close to their children and their families.
Lillian is survived by her children, Alan Lung and wife Michelle, and Cheryl Morgan and her husband Darin; six grandchildren, Justin Morgan and his wife Carli, Joshua Morgan and his fiancé Candida Pavia, Stacy, Matthew, Tanner, and Noah Lung; nine great-grandchildren, Austin and Zoe Hayward, Joel, Scott, and Alice Morgan, Nora Lung, Kira, Isabella Pavia-Baeza, and Elizabeth Pavia-Bautista; sisters-in-law, Elsie Hein, Betty Lung, and Betty Felsing; as well as many nieces, and nephews.
A special thank you goes out to the staff at Elim Place Alzheimer's care facility in Sanger, CA, for making Lillian a part of their family for the past five years, and for taking such good care of her. A profound thank-you also goes out to Sue Carder, for all the help she gave Cheryl during Lillian's illness.
