He was the eldest of two children. He was married for 57 years to his wife, Nancy. He enjoyed spending time at their mountain home that they built.
Larry was V.P. of Operations for 20 years at Sun Maid Raisins, then he was invited to Turkey for a year to teach them how to process raisins. After returning, he owned and operated a successful fence company. Lastly, Larry worked as an Agriculture Inspector for the USDA for 14 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother. Survived by his wife, Nancy, his children Todd Whorton and his wife Marlene, Laura Woods and her husband Roger. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A Funeral will be held at Stephens & Bean Funeral Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022, followed by interment at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Larry’s favorite charity, The Salvation Army.
