Larry Omes Holland was born on January 5, 1918 in Tishomingo, Ok. to Jewel and Homer Holland. He went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 7, 2012. He lived most of his life in Fresno. As a young man, served in the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II, and was stationed in the South Pacific Theatre.
Larry married Ileen Hearst in 1948 and celebrated their 64 wedding anniversary in April.
He worked for Fresno Unified School District for 26 years. Larry was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling with Ileen and Fresno Floaters in their motorhome for many years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Homer Holland; his mother, Jewel Holland; brothers, Homer and Harold Holland; sisters, Louise Hood and Patsy Schneider.
Larry leaves behind his wife Ileen; daughter, Carol Pimentel and her husband Art; daughter, Gail Pohan Hansard and her husband Wade; step-son, Walter Nan and his wife Sally; sister, Lou Ann Matthews; grandchildren, Christie Pohan, Craig Pohan and his wife Sandra, Robert, James, Ernest and Larry Nan; and great-grandchidren, Robert and Reid Hess, and Jeffrey and Bradley Pohan as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Military Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at 10:00 a.m.
