Kenneth Wayne Joe (June 15, 1946 – Feb 1, 2022) was born in Fresno, CA to parents Howard I. Joe and Helen D. Tom-Joe. He attended schools in the Central Unified School District, where he was affectionately known as “Kenny.” An avid fan of the San Francisco Giants, he lived in San Francisco for a year, but eventually settled again in Fresno in the family accounting business. While keeping books for client, Far East Cafe, he met the love of his life, Linda, in 1972. They were married in 1973 and started growing their family with the birth of Jaime (1976), Elaine (1978), Randi (1980) and Krinstin (1984). A loving family man, he was eventually occupied as a self-employed bookkeeper business so successfully that his family never lacked anything they needed and were always content and happy around the dining table. Though quiet, he was often considered the “rock” of the family; always an ever-present ear of support for siblings, friends and family who were undergoing difficult times. He was most well known for his gentle, easy-going nature, his always-present smile, and his immense pride in the accomplishments of his family and friends. Up until 2020, Ken & Linda were very active in the senior community, where they enjoyed ballroom dancing, socializing and even karaoke night on a regular basis with their friends. Ken enjoyed the simple joys of life to the fullest, but after a few decades of chronic but stable heart disease, he was noted to be getting tired and slow down his life once 2021 started; and when he had secured the pledge from his daughters for the care of his life love, Linda, he died peacefully in his sleep on Feb 1, 2022, the first day of lunar Chinese New Year.
His loved ones find much comfort and peace in the Bible promises found in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, which says: “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them also which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore, comfort one another with these words.”
Ken is survived by the love of his life, Linda Ma Joe, to whom he was married to for 48.5 years; his daughters, Jaime Bohlman, Elaine Joe, Randi Grosse and Krinstin Joe; his sons-in-law, Michael Bohlman and Jeramy Grosse; his grandchildren, Christina, Micaela & David Bohlman; his siblings, Karen Kale, Gaylene Joe and Darren Joe; and many cousins, nieces & nephews and beloved friends.
Ken will be laid to rest at the Fresno Memorial Gardens in a private graveside service. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled to be at Fresno Central Seventh-day Adventist Church at 2980 E. Yale Ave, 93703 on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 4:30pm; all are welcome to attend.
