November 27, 1934 - August 10, 2023
Ken Christiansen passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on November 27th, 1934 in Long Beach, CA. He was predeceased in death by his parents Ruth Hogan and Carl F. Christiansen. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Argilia (Prandini) Christiansen, sister Jo Ann Roth, daughters Donna Christiansen and Valerie (Barry) Eberling, son Ken, Jr. (Jeannie), and grandchildren Patrick, Timothy, John and Joshua.
Ken moved around a lot in his youth but found his family and home in Porterville, CA. He graduated from Porterville Union High School and married his best friend’s sister. He was able to realize a life long love of mechanics when he worked with his dad at a Shell gas station in Reno, Nevada. Family again called him back home to the Central Valley where he operated 2 Phillips 66 service stations and eventually his own auto repair shop in Fresno. After retiring he continued to be involved with mechanics working on his son’s race car.
A special thank you to his Fresno children and daughter-in-law who spent many hours making sure his last few years were carefree.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720 followed by a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:30 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at10:00 AM at St. Paul Catholic Newman Center, 1572 E Barstow Ave., Fresno, CA 93710. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, 264 N Blythe Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
