Kathy was born to Jack and Emma Engelman and raised on a vineyard in Fresno, CA near Biola. She graduated from Central High School in 1968 and was married to Robert Gilbert in 1969. The couple had two children, Brandon and Ryan, and lived in Fresno. In 1988 She was re-married to Fred Johnson and lived in Northwest Fresno until 2000, when they moved to Kelowna, BC, Canada. The two returned to California in 2007 and took up residence in Redding where they lived there until 2015, when they moved to Clovis to be closer to Family.
Kathy enjoyed arts & crafts, gardening, decorating, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Kathy is survived by her husband Fred, Son Brandon & Wife Monica, Son Ryan & Wife Teresa, Step Daughter Wendy and Husband Andy, Step Daughter Jennifer & Husband Mike, Sister Doris, and the grandchildren that she adored: Katie, Meghan, Carly, Cameron, and Jack.
A visitation for Kathleen will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720. A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 10:00 AM, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720.
Following the services, Kathleen will be laid to rest in Clovis Cemetery, 305 N Villa Avenue, Clovis, CA 93612.
Following graveside service there will be a reception at Clovis Veterans Memorial Building, 808 4th St, Clovis, CA 93612
