She was born on September 22,1937, in Pryor, OK, to Virgil and Mary Franklin. She was raised in Manteca, CA, and lived most her life in Kerman, CA, raising her family. She moved to Fresno, CA, 15 years ago where she enjoyed and was a committed member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed lunches after church with her fellow church members. She also enjoyed her monthly lunches with her "Sun Empire" girls and never missed one. Juanita loved working in her yard and keeping all her plants healthy. In the winter time, she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and always had one on her card table.
She graduated in 1955, from Manteca High School. Soon after, Juanita met Roger Pasma, and they were married on January 10, 1959. They were married for 37 years, and raised three children. Juanita worked for 33 years for Kerman Telephone Co., Sebastian Communications today, and loved her job. They were a second family to her and her family. They are very fond memories of our second family. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandchildren. For all that knew her, she was a true Elvis fan!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Pasma; her parents, Virgil and Mary Franklin; granddaughter, Becky Mason; brothers, Clarence Franklin, Clinton Franklin, and Lon Henry Franklin; and sister, Wilma Durao.
Juanita is survived by her children and their spouses, Pamela and Larry Calkins, Scott and Cindy Barber, and Roger Jr. and Valerie Pasma; grandchildren, Michelle Mason, James Hunter, Darren Barber and his wife Elizabeth, Stephanie Tumlinson and her husband Sean, Cody Pasma, and Jordon Pasma; and great-grand- children, Gage, Kailee, Micheala, Emma, Declan and Sawyer.
A Viewing will be held at Stephens & Bean Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 12, 2016, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Viewing will also be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 5955 S. Elm Street, Fresno, CA 93706, on Saturday, August 13, 2016, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. followed with a Funeral Service.
