It is with great sadness that we remember Juan Serena, who was born on June 12, 1953, to Jose Angel and Josefina Serena in Abernathy, Texas. In 1972, Juan married Maria Martha Casarez in Indio, California. Juan and Martha went on to have three children: Johnny, Joiel, and Jesse Serena. Juan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He was hardworking, a man of faith, and had a relationship with the Lord. He was always seen with his Bible in hand, sharing the word of God with his family, friends, and church. His great sense of humor and infectious laughter brought warmth and joy to everyone who knew him.
Juan is survived by a large and loving family, a testament to the strength of his legacy. His wife, Maria, his children: Johnny, Joiel (Tonie), and Jesse Serena, and his grandchildren: Alexis Castillo (Andrew), Juan Serena III, Savannah Serena (Chris), Clarissa Serena, Paris Ybarra, Cynthia Ybarra, Britney Serena, Mariah Cortez, Ryan Cortez, Joiel Serena Jr. (Carolina), Reyna Serena (Charlie), Erik Serena, Eliana Serena, Nicholas Torres, Jesse Serena Jr. (Gracie), Jacob Serena, Kailyn Serena. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Maria Serena, David Serena, Enriqueta Serena, Rosa Serena, Soila Serena, and Erlinda Serena, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Juan was predeceased by his parents and brothers Savino Serena, Enrique Serena, Santiago Serena, and Margarito Serena.
Juan will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a cherished and beloved member of his family and church community.
