Joyce Lorraine Kroeker

Joyce was born in Madison, South Dakota on May 10, 1934 to Gordon and Mathilda Nunnemaker. In the early 1940's, her family moved to Oakland, California and eventually made their way to Fresno. After a few years of living in Fresno, Joyce met Ed. They decided to get married on their very first date and waited two weeks until their next payday! They moved into their home on Browning Avenue where many memories were made.

With Ed’s love of agriculture and Joyce’s bookkeeping skills, Kroeker Custom Tractor Service was soon born. Ed and Jeff worked countless hours side by side in the field with Joyce working in their home office. Joyce’s love for business never ceased. When Kroeker, Incorporated was formed, she took the lead as President of the company. She took pride in knowing all her employees’ names and loved the feel of the family owned business.

It wasn’t all work for Joyce. Her motto of making memories was truly what she lived by. Her and Ed cruised to many countries all over the world with old friends and making even more along the way. When Ed brought home a 1990 red Corvette ZR1, their lives changed forever. They joined the Central Valley Corvettes and made even more friends and memories. As the number of friends grew, so did their car collection.

The most important thing for Joyce was her family. She is survived by her children Jill and her husband Steve, son Jeff and his wife Debbie and her grandchildren Kristi and her husband John, Sharla and her husband Jay and Kevin and his wife Annie. Joyce’s greatest blessings were her great-grandchildren; Sebastian, Jillian, Jordan, Jonathan, Julia, Emily, Jake, Madison and Jackson. All of whom have been blessed to have her in their lives.

Joyce’s highlight of her life was knowing and loving Jesus Christ and seeing her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren do the same.

A memorial service for Joyce will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024 At 10:00 AM at CrossCity Christian Church, 2777 E Nees Ave, Fresno, CA 93720.
