Josephine Victoria Segura

She married Joe Segura Jr., in 1948, in Wasco, NV. Together, they had seven children, Patricia, Joe, Robert, David, Vincent, Suzanne and Veronica. She also raised her nephew and niece, Peter and Linda Garcia. She has 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was an active involvement in the community. She worked as a Recreation Leader for the following local Recreation Centers: Mosqueda, Pinedale, and Sunset, amongst various elementary schools in Southeast Fresno.

She was a natural born seamstress. She designed and made folklorico costumes for Roosevelt High School, California State University, Fresno, and various other Fresno schools. She designed and made dresses for various occasions for family and friends as well.

She loved to bake, especially during the holidays.

Josie loved her family. She had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known for her tenacity and love for her family and community.

Visitation will be held at Stephens and Bean Chapel on Thursday, January 7, 2016, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. followed by a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2016.
