Johnny attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Edison High School in 1962. He attended Fresno City College and was drafted into the United States Army where he served a tour of duty in Viet Nam. He later served in the National Guard AVCAF Helicopter Unit for 20 years. A devoted father, he helped coach both his son’s baseball teams. He was retired from City of Fresno Disposal Department after 25 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jess C. and Esther Flores; and his brothers Jess and Salvador Flores.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 52 years, Delia Flores; daughter Michelle Flores and her husband Joe; son Juan Flores and wife Michelle; son Jesus Flores; grandchildren Joseph, Theresa, Manuel, De Gloria, Angelica Banuelos and her husband, Baldemor DeLeon; Juan Jr. and Michelle R.; great grandchildren Israel, Adrian, Anjelica and Roman; and brothers Anthony, Steven and Lawrance Flores. Also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Johnny’s family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Fresno Veteran’s Hospital for their great care and concern not only for our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather but also for our family. Thanks and appreciation also to St. Mary’s Hospice and Always Caring Home Care, they were so good in caring for him; and to all our family and friends for their thoughts and prayers.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lisle Funeral Home, 1605 L Street, Fresno, CA 93721.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Lisle Funeral Home 1605 L Street, Fresno, CA 93721.
Burial will follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 South Cornelia Ave, Fresno, California 93706.
