John was born on February 20, 1923, in Visalia, California. He passed away on Satur- day, September 10, 2011.
John served in the U.S. Marines in World War II. He graduated from Fresno State College. John worked for J.C. Penney and then retired from The Fresno Bee after 25 years. He volunteered at his church.
He enjoyed playing tennis, card games, telling jokes and he loved his Giants and 49ers.
The family would like to thank Kaiser Permenente and especially the staff at Pacific Gardens.
John is survived by Doris, his wife of 61 years; children, Mike Steiner and his wife Sheila, Pat Steiner, Diane Sanchez and her husband Randy, Mark Steiner and his wife Yvette, and Claudia Antonio and her husband Eddie; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
