I worked with Jewel for many years , I would joke with him that he was the only mechanic that never was dirty after working all day . We will all miss him but he is without pain now in the arm’s of the lord

My heart breaks for the death of  my cousin.  Gone too soon.  So many Riverdale and Laton memories in our unique child hood...two sisters' kids  running country wild hanging right... So hard to say goodbye.

Jewel was my first cousin.  I remembered as growing up how our family was always together.  Our Moms was sister, and they were very closed.  We only had each other as family in California.  I also remember on a lot Sundays we would be at his father's house sitting at the kitchen table jokes and laughing together and how much he loved being with his parents.  I know that he was saved by God's grace and that a blessing. 

This is your oldest sister Della(Okla),also in proxy for the second older sister Lois(Texas). We're so sorry that you had to suffer, but it's over now you're are with our father in heaven. We will forever cherish our bracelets that you gave us with these three words " Faith,Love,Hope". May you rest in peace. Love ❤️

Jewel wasn’t just my best man he was also my best friend. Jewel was a gift from God to many people. I watched Jewel fight the good fight of faith and as he was going through he would still pray for others. I know Jewel loved God and he knew God loved him. I know I will see him again one day. I pray the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be upon all of his family. I miss you Jewel and I will never forget you!

Old highschool friend, but never forgot about what an amazing guy he was. His never ending smile and laughter. Lost touch many years ago. So sad to hear about his passing. Men like Jewel should live forever but I can see how God would want him too.

Vicky and I wish to send our heartfelt condolences for the loss of a completely wonderful man to his wife Sylvia , daughter,son and the Brown family. We have known Jewel since early 70’s and as anyone who had the honor of knowing Jewel can attest to was a man of great character and decency. He enjoyed laughing and always avoided saying anything negative about anyone. A true man of God  who loved his family greatly, he will be missed by all. How do I express the loss of a brother, friend, and champion. Words are not enough. Your memories are all we have left with, and I know those will help us keep going in life. Rest in peace, brother! I can still feel your presence. I miss you, your voice, laughter. You'll  be missed.
 

Our Dearest and deepest condolences to Sylvia and Jeweline. Eddie and I (Diane) couldn't of asked for a most wonderful neighbor in all areas of Jewel's personality and mannerism.  If he wasn't washing his car, his wife's or hid daughters, he was working on beautifying hid front and back yard or some type of mechanicing on his cars. He always had a smile 😊, my daughter Julie always say Hi Denzel Washington And he would break a big laugh,.. she told him he reminded her of Denzel W.
When I told my two girls (Julie n Crystal) that he had passed, they broke out in tears and would miss work to go say their goodbye's and respect. Eddie and I n my family will truly Miss Him. Sylvia we have been neighbors for years and hope to continue for many more. Call or just knock at my door if you need to talk 🙏❤️

Jewel was my brother and as long as I can remember he was always into Bruce Lee and acting like a drill sergeant. He sign up for the Marines when he was 17 1/2 I believe. One memory I have was me and my sister Augustine she’s always bringing home stray animals she brought home a dog of course we didn’t tell anybody we put it in the room and we so happen to leave that night everyone except for Jewel oh when we got home he told on us I think only because he thought someone had broke into the house and then he realized it was just a dog. The last conversation I had with jewel was last year and it lasted over an hour I will always remember him as a strong and kind man. Rest In Peace Jewel. Love your sister Augusta.

Hi, I’m Jewel’s sister, Doris.  

I want to share a few of my fond memories of my time with my brother. Jewel and I are two years apart, me being two years younger, we were very close. Everywhere Jewel went, I wanted to go. Jewel was on the high school wrestling team and one of the star team members at that. Students weren’t allowed to ride the bus to the away games, so, yep, I created a cheer team consisting of myself and my best friend just so I could go to his away games.   

Jewel worked after school on a farm feeding cattle and yep, I convinced him to let me go help.  My job was to cut the wire on the hay bales, not knowing there’s three wires on a bale of hay, I cut one wire and was sent to wait for him in the car. 

Jewel enlisted in the Marines after high school, and yep, I went to the Marine recruiting office to sign up.  When asked why I wanted to enlist.  I said, “So I can be with my brother.” The recruiting officer was kind enough to tell me that family members are not stationed together and sent me home.  I wrote Jewel every week.  

Jewel, I love you and we will be together again one day, when I’m called home.

I worked with JB for 30yrs I want to share a story about JB. In 2000 I found out I had cancer, I was in the hospital for a major surgery. I don’t remember the first 3to4 days after the surgery was on a lot of morphine. I remember waking up on the 4th day and seeing my wife struggling not knowing what the future was for us, she had not left my side. I asked God to send someone to minister to her and than I was out again. In less then a hour JB walked in the room with that great smile of his. I was reminded of how God looks to and fro looking for someone willing and I could hear JB saying here I am Lord send me. I was out of it and they had never met. He was there for over 4 hrs ministering to her. I will never forget this day as long as I live. God knew who to send. That is who Jewel is and we will miss him dearly but will see him again. 

I have worked with Jewel for many many years at DelMonte. I have always known Jewel to be a very respectful, honorable, kind, and good person. We shared many conversations. My most memorable ones are when we talked about our love for our Lord Jesus Christ. He would remind me that in Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of God will stand forever”. Rest In Peace my dear friend . Rest in God’s loving arms. Please accept my deepest condolences to the family of Jewel Brown.

Jewel and I worked together for 35 years. He was a man of integrity, decency and respect for others. He also had a good sense of humor to round it out! I am glad to to have had him as my friend.
