Jasper Newton Fox passed away on June 12, 2020 at home with his wife Towana by his side. Jasper was born in West Virginia on March 10, 1923 to Holly T. and Arie B. Fox. After high school he enlisted in the Army where he trained to be a Paratrooper in the Screaming Eagles. Upon completing his tour and being honorably discharged he met and married Thelma Swallows in McLeansboro Illinois. Jasper worked in the oil fields in Illinois for a few years and moved his family to California in 1959. He worked as a mechanic for a few years at Airway Farms before the family moved to Mt. Whitney Farms and raised his family.
Jasper loved to go fishing and camping. He had a love for animals and enjoyed the many dogs he had in his life time.
After the death of his wife Thelma Jasper met and married Towana in 1993 in Chowchilla CA. They were together for 27 years. Jasper is preceded in death by his wife Thelma and sisters Orla, Ritha, Dean, Stella Mae, Mary and brothers William, James and Gregory. He is survived by his wife Towana and sister Betty Honeycutt in Milan TN., daughter DeEtta Pollock and her husband Jim from Kingsburg CA., son William Fox and his wife Tammy from East Paltaka Fl., Tony Ybarra from Modesto CA, and Stasia Sosa and her husband Sam from Arroyo Grande CA. He also had 6 grandchildren Brenton, Stasia , Ashtin, Jason, Jordan and Sammy. Jasper also had 8 great-grandchildren- Jasper, Oliver, Trinity, Leah, Aubree, Preston, Kaleigh and Aria. Jasper had many many friends and family.
Service at Lisle Funeral Home 1605 L. Street Fresno CA. Interment to be held Monday, June 22, 2020 in a private ceremony at San Joaquin Veterans Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA.
