Janey Irene Stumpfhauser, age 94, of Fresno, California passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. She as born September 16, 1926 at home in Fresno, California, to James G. Chrisman and Elma N. (Fulks) Chrisman. Janey went to valley schools, graduated from Castemont High School in Oakland, CA
on June 1944. Joined U.S. Cadet Nursing Corp in September 1944, trained at children's hospital in San Francisco, CA. Met Joe Stumpfhauser just back from WW II service and married on January 1947. Had 62 years together till his passing in 2009. Janey became a farmer, keeping books and making payroll. Loved to hand crocheting, made many baby and adult afghans. Drew and painted all her life. Learned to make her mother-in-laws, Germany Xmas cookies and made then every year.
She has three daughters, Judith Ann of Houston, Texas, Barbara Jean was of Fresno (deceased), Mary Jo of Lemoore, CA, son Joseph P. Stumpfhauser II of Fresno. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Joe and his wife Cynda; and there daughter Joella Stumpfhauser , were Janey's care-givers her last years.
