in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Jim, a long time resident of California in his early years and a graduate of the University of San Francisco is now at peace after a five year long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Our beloved husband, father, OPA, uncle, brother and brother in law leaves behind a legacy
in his wife of 51 years Roberta Deaile, his cherished children and their spouses: daughters: Danielle and David Saldivar; Stephanie and Ryan McDonough and son Christopher Rice. His blessings of grandchildren who he taught all kinds of fun and mischief: Aidan Rice, Jacob McDonough, Matthew Rice, Samuel McDonough, Travis McDonough, Caitlin Rice, Anthony Saldivar, Lorelei McDonough, Michael Saldivar and Zayne McDonough. He is survived by his sister Barbra Lackey, niece Ginger Wilcox and was preceded in death by his parents and brothers.
Jim served his country for twenty one years as a Field Artillery Officer in four countries and ten states. His crowning achievement was serving as Project Manager, Mortar Systems and in that role supported Operation Desert Storm.
He served God in a multiple of ways but mainly by living his faith as a good and decent man.
He loved his God, his country, his family, his faith and his friends. He was an avid supporter of education and was proud of his degrees: BS, Physics, University of San Francisco, Master of Science in Business Administration, Weber University and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering, Kansas State.
Thank you to all those who walked these last years with us for your guidance, comfort and prayers.
