My wife Martha and I are very sorry for your loss. Jim was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Knights of Columbus.  Each meeting he would share something inspiring about our Catholic faith.  He was very well prepared about whatever he shared.  
At 4:00 pm Mass before or after communion he would pass by me and give a fist bump.  We will miss his laugh and the thoughts he shared with us.  
Several friends and I were talking about how touching the Irish song and fiddle was.  Rest in peace Jim.  

I spent a lot of time with Grace and her family as a kid and Jim was like a second dad to me. He was kind and smart and funny and his memory will be forever cherished.

I've been spending the morning reading Irish poems, limericks and sayings, trying to find something that I think he would like. I'm sure he'd like all of them. I decided to add a few sillier ones since he would want us all to laugh.

My thoughts are with you all today. Big hugs and hope your tears are balanced with laughter as he would want.

I’ll never forget the Irish blessing he said at our wedding!
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine gently on your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
It was a special moment.

This family has been such a part of my life since I was a little girl. I am so thankful to have gotten to share birthdays and events and create memories with Jim that I will forever hold dear. A strong man who loved his family and friends and will forever be remembered.

When I was little, I wanted to go to Stanford and study law, just like my grandpa. Even though that didn’t work out, Seamus always asked about my school & congratulated me on my accomplishments. I loved how every Christmas, if he got a gift that he could wear, he would wear it the whole day. I, and I’m sure so many others, loved his laugh. He gave great hugs. When I graduated high school, I sent him a thank you note for a card that he and Charlie had sent me, and he mailed me back a thank you note, for sending him a thank you note. And every time we left his house after a visit, he would follow us outside, hands on hips, and wave goodbye until we drove away safely. Seamus will be so missed by me, his family, and those whose lives he touched, but I know he’s somewhere, hands on hips, watching to make sure everyone that he loves is safe. He was proud to be a Flanagan, and taught me to do the same. Sending love to Charlie and my family, and those who love and lost Seamus too.

I sat next to my fellow Veteran Jim at monthly meetings for 7 years as he served as our Knights of Columbus Council 16185 Lecturer. As  council Lecturer Jim shared spiritual discussion topics that covered a broad range of areas of our Catholic Faith often juxtaposed against how we worship today as compared to the times of his youth.  He was my mentor and friend. I will always hear his voice in my ears as I contemplate Council activities and listen to the Sunday scripture readings.
