Ida Victoria Rivas (Maciel) passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017, in the loving and caring company of her daughter, Christine Rodarte, after saying her farewells to her children, Vicky, Patty, and Steve.
Ida was born in 1925, in Parlier, CA, the second of 10 children. She attended Caruthers High, lettering in track, before transferring to Madera High her senior year. In 1949, she began her own family in the Bay Area. In 1964, she suffered the loss of her third child, David, who was 10 at the time.
In 1975, she moved from the Bay Area to Fresno, CA, a single mother who was a model of strength and resiliency. Ida's children, 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchidren, and surviving siblings will miss a beautiful, warm hearted mother, "Nana," and sister who treated everyone with endless compassion.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church on Friday, November 3, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
