Gwen was preceded in death by her parents Lowell and Enid Walker, her brother Doug Walker, her Husband of 67 years Richard Emmick, her Great-Granddaughter Starley Quival and her Son-In-Law Witt Hawkins.
Gwen lived a full life with her husband, her family and many close friends. Gwen and her husband took many trips with family and/or friends over the years, traveling all over the world. She and Richard enjoyed taking trips with their daughters, their granddaughters and even their great-grandchildren. Gwen enjoyed having family gatherings, many being spent laughing so hard that there were tears running down everyone’s cheeks. She hosted quite often, which involved her doing a majority of the cooking and cleaning, but she loved gathering everyone together for every holiday, birthday, Super Bowl, random weekends, or just anytime it was convenient. She was the type of person who always made time for anyone: always ready to listen, always gave of herself and never treated anyone like they were a burden, she was a true friend. Gwen had a love for dogs and cats, she had several throughout the years and each one of them was spoiled. In her free time, Gwen enjoyed crocheting, gifting many crocheted afghans, tablecloths, doilies, baby clothes, etc. to her family, friends, and her church. Gwen discovered her love for painting after retirement. Each of her family’s homes are decorated with her many paintings.
Gwen is survived by her two Daughters, Carolyn Benner (John) and Pamela Hawkins. Gwen is also survived by her five Granddaughters Sheri Elliott (Paul), Heather Thorkelson (Chad), Deanna Lavinder (Kenny), Stephanie Fuentes (Bruce), and Wittney Quival (Tony). She is also survived by nine Great-Grandchildren Joshua, Jordan, Jared, Brigette, Lauren, Nathan, Amanda, Taylor and Kamryn. Gwen is also survived by five Great-Great-Grandchildren, Leia, Lily, Amelia, Malia and Leonardo.
A Graveside service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Friday, September 15th 2023, at 10:00am.
