Pastor Gonzalo Mayorga
October 15, 1959 - February 25, 2023
Gonzalo Domingo Mayorga was born on October 15, 1959 in Managua, Nicaragua to Gonzalo Mayorga, Sr. and Maria Luisa Manzanares. He immigrated to the US at the age of 19 in 1978 along with his 6 siblings. Upon arrival to the US, he worked several jobs, first as janitor, then as a truck driver and soon after accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, Gonzalo dedicated the rest of his life to ministering as a Pastor. He co-pastored his first church in So. San Francisco, CA and then his own church in San Francisco, Ca for several years. During the last few years he took on a job with PG&E where he had recently been recognized and awarded for his outstanding work with the company.
Outside of the ministry, Gonzalo loved to spend time on the road to visit with friends and family, and also enjoyed an occasional visit to San Francisco; specifically Pier 39. He had a huge heart and lived his life fearlessly and never hesitated to take on new challenges and opportunities while doing everything with love and integrity. Gonzalo had a strong work ethic, an incredibly humorous outlook on life but most importantly, a passion to share the word of God, and a deep love for his entire family.
We will carry his legacy in our hearts forever reminding us that even in times where we don’t understand, God is in control. We choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service, like Christ modeled for us.
Gonzalo is preceded in death by his father Gonzalo Mayorga, Sr. and his brother and best friend, Pastor Oscar Mayorga whom he joined the Lord with. He leaves to cherish his memory, 6 adoring grandchildren; Cecilia, Adrian and Daniel Guizar, Miah Mayorga, Kaiden and Aylah Duru - 5 children; Christina Mayorga Medellin, Joanna Mayorga Duru, Gonzalo Mayorga, “his Babe” Jessica Mayorga and Josue Mayorga - 4 children-in-love; Javier, Victor, Fredder and Angel Mayorga - 4 grandchildren-in-love and 2 sons-in-law; Sergio Medellin and Obinna Duru along with their adoring families - countless dear friends and his loving wife of 17 years, Johanna Lisseth Mayorga.
