Geraldine Marie Flaherty

a lengthy illness due to complications from Covid-19.

Geraldine was born December 1, 1921 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She came to Fresno, California at age one with her mother, Winifred McKee and remained living in Fresno the remainder of her life. Geraldine graduated from Fresno High School. She attended Beauty College and received her Cosmetology Certification in 1942. Geraldine married David J. Flaherty in 1943, who was stationed in the Army Air Corps at Hickham Field, Fresno, during World War II. David passed away in June, 1981.

Geraldine worked for several years at California State University Fresno, in the Housing and Payroll Department, that oversees the student housing. After retirement, Geraldine remained friends for many years with employees and students that came through CSUF in the dormitory housing. After retirement, Geraldine volunteered at various Catholic organizations in the Fresno area including Our Lady of Victory Elementary School

Geraldine is survived by her sons David Flaherty and daughter-in-law Donna of Fresno, CA, William Flaherty and daughter-in-law Jennifer of Oakhurst, CA; our grandchildren, Michael Flaherty and daughter-in-law Michele, of Fresno, CA. Timothy Flaherty and daughter-in-law Ali’i of Fresno, CA, Erin Ferguson of Seattle, Washington and Christina Dean of Texas and three great grandchildren.

A private family service will be held.
