

Gabriel Acevedo Gastelum, 97, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday April 27, 2022 in his Fresno home.
Gabriel was born October 25, 1924 in Yosemite, Ca. To Jesus Gastelum and Theresa Acevedo.
He was a Ranch Foreman for McCarthy Farming Company for 14 years and later worked as a Ranch Foreman for Zacky Farms until he retired.
Gabriel married Dominga Robles on May 22, 1943 in Tucson, Arizona. The two were happily married until Dominga passed away in March of 2015. They were blessed with four children,
Gabriel Gastelum Jr., Terry Duarte, Robert Gastelum, and Ruben Gastelum.
Gabriel would go on to in listed himself into the Army on May 26, 1943. He served in the European theater of operations for 15 months, ending his service on December 24, 1945.
Gabriel loved to watch his cowboy movies, telling his jokes, he loved to read almost anything he could get his hands on, working on his lawn when he was able to, and working on his many cars he owned in his lifetime. He also loved helping his family and friends whenever he had the chance to.
Gabriel is survived by his 3 sons Gabriel Gastelum Jr., Robert Gastelum, and Ruben Gastelum. His grandchildren Gabe Gastelum, Margie Gastelum, Suzette Gastelum, Daniel & Mary Gastelum, Israel Gastelum, Valerie Duarte, Anthony & Estella Duarte, Christopher Saldate, Monica & Huero Gastelum, Rachel Hernandez, Ronnie & Marcie Gastelum, Robert & Shelli Garza, Stacy & Lupe Gaytan, Nina Gastelum, and Rachel Gastelum. 40 Great Grandchildren and 54 Great Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dominga Gastelum, his daughter Terry Duarte, his 2 Daughter in laws Tina and Lupie Gastelum, his grandson Paul Gastelum Mesa, Great Granddaughter Destiny Desiree Duarte.
Gabriel will be remembered for his many jokes and his beautiful smile. His love and devotion to his family. He will be missed very much.
Services for Gabriel will be on May 5, 2022 at 1pm at Belmont Memorial Park located at 201 N Teilman Ave. in the Bell Tower located in the middle of the cemetery.
His family would like to Thank St. Mary's Hospice for their help and his 3 granddaughters Valerie, Rachel, and Monica his grandsons Chris and Timothy for the care they gave to Gabriel in his last days of his blessed life. Lastly to 2 family friends Margarita Garza and Sammy...thank you.
