Beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother Fumiko Urushima of Sanger passed away suddenly on December 25, 2014 at the age of 90. She was born to the late Kaichi and Towa Yamamoto on April 29, 1924 in Reedley, California.
At an early age the family moved to Huntington Beach, California. Fumiko attended Huntington Beach High School and graduated in 1942. The family relocated to Arizona during WWII later returning to live in Sanger, California.
Fumiko married George Urushima and together they opened Farmers Cash Market on Kings Canyon and McCall in 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband George and sisters Fukiko, and Michiye. Fumiko is survived by her daughter Suzanne Butters and son-in-law Tim Butters, granddaughter Renee Bean and husband Dr. Roger Bean, great grandson Gavin, sister Mary Urushima and brother-in-law Ray Urushima, brother Masami Yamamoto and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Friday, January 2 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Saturday Jan 3, 2015, at 1 p.m.
