Frank Lucero passed away on July 26, 2021 with his family by his side. He was the 7th of 8 children of Bernardino and Marina Lucero. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Josephina Singh; his brothers, Benjamin, Valentino, Ricardo, and Eugene (Louie) Lucero; his grandson, Nicholas Lucero; and great granddaughter, Ahriana Gonzalez.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen; his brother, Eloy; his sister, Dorothy; his children, Gary, Elizabeth, and Kenneth; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
Frank was born in Trinidad, Colorado and lived his youth in Lodi and Mendota, California. His family settled in Fresno, California where he met the love of his life, Carmen Orante. In 1956, they got married and had three children, Gary, Elizabeth, and Kenneth.
Frank worked as a gas station employee in his early years and then became a delivery truck driver for the next 15 years. In the late 60's, he started a career in farming and in 1974, bought his ranches. He has grown wine grapes, raisin grapes, vegetables, and when he retired in 1996, was growing table grapes.
He was a very hard worker and he enjoyed his work on the farm - but as much as he enjoyed farming, his family was his pride and joy. He was very close to his children and his grandchildren. When his health started to fail and he wasn't feeling well, seeing his great grandchildren would lift him up.
Frank loved going fishing and helping his boys on the farm. He liked to go visit his brothers in Colorado and would drive through New Mexico because he would enjoy seeing the countryside. He loved talking to people of different cultures, and he was very giving of himself. He would constantly teach his children to live by his example.
Frank would enjoy going to the mountains and the coast. He would love to eat and liked trying different foods but always seemed to come back to pizza and chile verde as his favorites.
He will be deeply missed, but he will always be in our hearts.
