Frank was born in Fresno, California, on October 18, 1919, to Frank and Consuelo DeSoto.
Frank was a decorated veteran in the United States Army, enlisting in 1940. He served five years during World War II with the 160th Infantry Regiment. He was stationed in the Philippines, where he served as a medical aidman and a rifleman. He was honorably discharged in 1945 as a Staff Sergeant.
After leaving the Army, Frank served in the Sailors Union of the Pacific. He joined U.S. Steel as a welder and retired in 1984.
Frank was admired by all for his steadfast love and devotion to God, family, friends, and country. He took pride in each and every one of us left behind.
Frank is survived by Mary DeSoto, his beautiful wife of 55 years; his daughter, Elizabeth Swisher and son-in-law, Ken Swisher; his daughter, Deborah Wood and son-in-law, Ralph Wood; grandchildren, Andrew Swisher, Adam Wood and Vanessa Wood; and brother, Jim DeSoto.
