Flo passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 7, 2014 in Thousand Oaks, CA at the age of 83.
Flo was raised in Waipahu, Hawaii. Upon graduating high school, she was awarded a scholarship to attend David Lipscomb College in Nashville, TN, majoring in English. It was here she met the love of her life, Mansel Willett.
She enjoyed her retirement from 22 years of library work at California State University Fresno. After raising her 3 children, Flo found great fulfillment doting on her grandchildren, tending to her roses, and traveling the world with family and with her church friends.
Flo will be remembered for being a founding member of the College Church of Christ, always a faithful and active servant. We treasured her love of music, signature red lipstick, and catchphrase, “I love you more.” Her warmth and compassion were matched by her strength of character. She was a woman who faced life’s challenges with an unwavering sense of dignity and faith.
In her final days, she blessed her loved ones with special gifts - a wink, a hymn, or a laugh. Alzheimer’s could not rob Flo of her beautiful dimpled smile and her kind spirit.
Although devastated by her passing, the family is comforted that she is now at rest in heaven with family and friends, especially her beloved husband, Mansel Willett.
Flo is survived by her children, James Willett (Michele), Lani Shearn (Steve), and Joy Rhoades (David); her grandchildren; and brother Joshua Agsalud.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org, or 1060 La Avenida, Mountain View, CA 94043.
Visitation will be at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Saturday March 15, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
A Memorial Service will be held at College Church of Christ, 1284 E. Bullard, on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 2:30.
Arrangements under the direction of Stephens & Bean Funeral Chapel, Fresno, CA.
