Evelyn Marie Ceppaglia was born on April 1st, 1927 to Angelina Farina and Nicholas Ceppaglia in Bronx, New York. Evelyn was the middle child; Angie Papaleo, Evelyn Nieto and Nicholas Ceppaglia. She is survived by her brother Nicholas Ceppaglia, her daughter Stephanie, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren as well as all of her loving nieces and nephews.
The family moved from New York to California in 1931. The Ceppaglia family settled down in West Fresno in a lovely home located at 123 West Whitesbridge Ave. Evelyn graduated from Edison high school in 1945. After high school she worked for a few years in the billing department at a doctor’s office in Fresno.
She met her husband, Paul Nieto in 1948. They married on April of 1950 at Our Lady Victory Catholic Church in Fresno, CA in a traditional catholic wedding ceremony.
They bought their first, and forever, home at 1533 West Cornell Ave in the city of Fresno in 1962 for just $16,000. Evelyn has been in the same cherished home for over sixty years. Paul and Evelyn had their son, Bryant Nieto, in 1959 and their daughter, Stephanie Nieto, in 1964. Her husband, Paul Nieto, opened their business in 1962. Paul built and manufactured the equipment, and attachments for installation on agricultural crop-dusting planes. Evelyn managed all of the books and finances for the business. In 1995 Paul passed away from a stroke and their son, Bryant Nieto, took over the business. Evelyn was a devout Catholic, dedicated to her faith and her community. She has been a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church for over seventy years.
She was a member of the Women’s Guild and ICF for over twenty years through Our Lady of Victory. She volunteered at St. Agnes for twenty years, from 1968 - 1988, until her husband Paul had a stroke. Evelyn continued to look after the financial end of the business, while caring for her loving husband.
