Eugene Chew Wong

He graduated from University of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, and was self-employed in the city of Fresno for most of his career. He was an active member of the Lions Club, CCCCA, Ying On and Wong Family Benevolent Associations.

Eugene married Jean Cho in 1989, and they settled in Fresno, CA, for their 29 years of marriage. They enjoyed show case ball room dancing and world travel to faraway places such as China, Hong Kong, Japan, Panama Canal, South America, Italy, Alaska, Mexico, Canada, and Hawaii.

He was an energetic guy, full of life and always had a smile on his face. During his free time Eugene enjoyed hunting, fishing, mahjong, gardening, and socializing with everyone that he met.

He was preceded by his parents, Sam Wong, and Yuck Shee Wong; and his siblings, Rose, Benny, and Harold.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Jean Cho Wong; sisters, Phyllis and Winnie; sons, Kirwin and Felix; stepsons, Larry, Leland, Richard, and Robert; and step-daughters, JoAnn, Judy, and Julie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel on Friday, February 2, 2018, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
