Elsie Hein

Our beautiful mother, Elsie Lung Hein, peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016, and is now joyfully reunited with Bob, her husband of 71 years, who preceded her in death in 2013. Elsie was a vibrant 96 years old. She will be missed more than words can say by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members.

Elsie was born on September 28, 1919, to August and Louisa Lung. Her family was of Russian German descent. She was one of seven children, and at 96, the last surviving sibling. With her passing, the door closes on a special family generation of courageous and honorable people.

Elsie is survived by her daughter, Marsha Short and husband John of Visalia, CA; her son, Doug Hein and wife Randy of Clovis, CA. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and their spouses, Mike and Aubree Short of Visalia, CA, Gregg Hein of Clovis, CA, Kristin and Matt Pena of Clovis, CA, and Jeffrey and Hanna Short of Clovis, CA. In addition, Elsie leaves behind five treasured great-grandchildren, Payton and Payge Short, Madison and Sidney Pena, and Jackson Short. Elsie's loving extended family resides from Maryland to Washington State.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to caregivers who assisted Elsie in her home at the Willow Creek Health Care Center, and AseraCare Hospice.

A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Friday, July 22, 2016, at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Elsie's honor to your favorite charity.
