Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She and her husband Ralph, raised their children on a ranch near Raisin City. She was a homemaker who loved to cook, experimenting with countless different recipes, gathering with family and friends, and going on trips to the coast. She was also quite an accomplished artist, specializing mostly in oil painting.
Betty contributed her time and energy to community services. She was elected chairman of the Woman's Fresno county Farm Bureau; she was president of the Raisin City Parent Teacher Association, and chairman of the University Colony Home Department.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hartwig; her sisters, Molly Erickson, Kate Opperman, Irene Oliver, Annie Ward; and her brother, Henry Lehman.
Betty is survived by her brothers, Adam Lehman and Elmer Lehman; daughter, Karen Segovia; son, Lloyd Hartwig; grandchildren, Kelli Hartwig, Brandon Ellis-Segovia, Zackary Segovia, and Chloe Segovia.
Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel, on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel, on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.
Remembrances may be made to St. Agnes Hospice.
