God has chosen to call his servant, Elizabeth "Luvenia" Goff home on June 12, 2014, to crown her and to walk with Him to her mansion in heaven gently removing her from her illness, pain and suffering.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Coy Goff; they lived in the same house on Van Dyke in Fresno, where they raised their daughters LaDonna Tunison, Kathleen Colone, Rita Sue Amacker and Connie Walle. She is also preceded by her Father, C. H. Odom and Mother, Lorraine Odom; two siblings, James Orvel Odom and Vernon "Red" Odom.
She is survived by her daughters and was the eldest of her surviving siblings, Jackie Van Tassel, Pearl Volpe, Clarence Odom, Annette Millican,. Don Odom and Francis Odom; 8 Grandchildren and 18 Great-Granchildren.
In 1959, she worked as clerical support for at Cal-Cot Cotton Gin and Cargill's Gin with her longtime best friends and neighbors, Darlene Langpaap and Lavonne Peffer. she retired in 1988. She was a dedicated servant to her God and worshipped Him at Truth Tabernacle Church on First street in Fresno, CA where Reverend Vaughn Morton baptized her and was her Pastor for 25 years.
She was a wonderful and loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, sister and friend. To know her was an honor; she will forever be missed by all. Elizabeth will be laid to rest in the Meditation Garden Odom Family Plot at Fresno Memorial Gardens in Fresno.
Visitation, Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Lisle Funeral Home. Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 11:00 at Truth Tabernacle and interment at Fresno Memorial gardens at 1:30 pm.
Special acknowledgement and gratitude to her daughter, Kathleen Colone, who was Luvenia's loving companian and caregiver, with enduring dedication to her Mother's comfort. Also, thank you to Kathy's neighbors, Ron and Penny Williams and Steve Langpaap for their close watch over Kathy and Luvenia, Linda Odom and to the Asera Hospice staff and Auspis Agency of Aging.
