Edward J Regier was born September 29, 1930 to D.L and Mable Regier in Okeene Ok. He was the oldest of 3 boys. His brother Donald Regier preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Frances Regier of Fresno, Ca., brother Kenneth Regier and wife Carolyn of Broken Arrow Ok. His children Jaymes Eugene Regier and wife Dana, Carole Ann Regier-Blomgren and husband Gary, Michael David Regier and wife Susan, Karen Steed, Steve Abston, Virginia Baker and husband Dennis all of Fresno Ca, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He attended a K-12 school in Okeene Ok, lettering in all three sports during his high school years, his favorite was basketball. He entered the Army during the Korean War serving two years, 1951-1953. Ed and Frances married August 31, 1976.
He enjoyed accounting and worked for various businesses before opening up his own bookkeeping and tax preparation with General Business Services. In his later years after closing the business he worked for Fresno Unified part-time for 15 years and was forced to retire at 82, delivering tests to schools.
Ed was treasurer for Fresno First Baptist church as well as sang in the choir. He and Frances enjoyed creating many meals for various functions at the church, sometimes serving as many as 200 people.
Ed served on the Evangel Home Board from 1994-1999 where he also taught financial classes to the women there.
Ed entered into our Lord’s presence on May 16, 2023, one year to the day from enjoying the Central Valley Honor Flight.
A visitation for Edward will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home.
