CLOVIS, California – Edgardo C. Cubos, also known as Eddie, went home to the Lord on January 16, 2024, just six days before his 91st birthday. He was surrounded by his loving family during his final days. Eddie was born in Manila, Philippines to Arsenio and Ramona Cubos. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in Japan, Hawaii, Vietnam, and the Korean War. He worked as an electrician for the City of Long Beach Shipyard for 30 years and moved with his family to Fresno, California in 1990.
Eddie was known for his kindness, respect, and service to others. He was a beloved husband, father, and uncle to all. Eddie is survived by his wife of 45 years, Imelda, his children Susan, Romel, Myra, Cheryl, and Sabrina, his siblings Johnny and Bell, and his five grandchildren.
Visitation and Rosary services will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home located at 836 East Nees Avenue, Fresno, California.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church located at 929 Harvard Avenue, Clovis, California.
Following the mass, Eddie will receive Full Military Honors performed by the Joint Services Honor Command at Fresno Memorial Gardens located at 175 South Cornelia Avenue, Fresno, California.
The Celebration of Eddie's Life will continue at a lunch reception, with more details to be announced.
