Edgar Palomino, the fourth of five children born to the union of Belen and J. Luz Palomino, was born on June 18, 1944. He attended school in West Fresno, and California State University, Fresno. While at Fresno State, he supported the "La Raza" movement, urging equality for the Latino student and respect for minority cultures. He maintained pride in his years of service in the United States Army and his status as a Veteran. On January 20, 1967, he joined in matrimony with Nancy (Juarez). Three children blessed this union, Jeff, Christina and Daniela.
Edgar made a career in the Human Services with specialties in health, education employment and training. He demonstrated empathy and understanding, avoiding negative, emotion and encouraging his clients toward the realization of purpose and self-worth. He kept an “open-heart” in serving his clients and believed respect for others could bring clarity to a chaotic and confusing world. This attitude was part of his lifestyle and guided all of his relationships.
Edgar's greatest sense of pride, comfort and dedication was found in his immediate and extended families, in return he experienced the love and respect of the entire family. His ultimate love was reflected in his relationship with his children and grandchildren, Salvador III, Presley, Ethan and Jacob. He strived to make life a learning experience for them, his spirit will continue to guide their future.
Edgar was a “peace maker” with many friends. He thrived in social setting, his spoken word created a happy harmonious atmosphere and his ever present smile brought him instant acceptance.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; siblings, Henry and Herb Palomino, and Sylvia Mc Comas; and soul survivor brother Roger.
