Duanna,  
I can not find the words to tell you how sorry I am for your loss.  I just found this as I have been trying to contact Dave for months. My heart is broken as he was such a great friend.  He was a great person and friend always had a smile on his face and last time we were together, he was still smiling and said he was going to bet this beast.  He would worry about me and what I was going though, his heart was so big and kind.  I will miss him dearly. 

My sympathy and prayer go out to you and the family. 

I feel so bad that I missed the celebration of life for him.

Dave was a big brother to me, I remember when he met Duanna, I would babysit Troy and Brit so they could go out. We didn’t see each other as often as we should have and never made it to the Dodger game together. Spending those last days and having some one on one discussions about dying and life and promising you that I’ll help make sure Duanna is ok meant a lot. I know you’re probably fishing with Dad and having a wonderful reunion right now and looking out for Our Dodgers. You will be missed but never forgotten. Team Blue for life. To the Smith Family, I am so sorry for your loss of David, he was way to young to loose his precious life at age 51. I can see he was cherished and loved by all. Please remember that although we loose our loved ones at times we are assured by Jesus words found at John 5:28+29 that we will see them again right here on earth. We are also promised that our God Jehovah will soon do away with sickness and death ( Revelation 21:3+4). I hope these verses help ease the pain as it did for me.

We were so sorry to hear about Dave's passing and will remember his smile as he passed by our house with a wave.  He was such a friendly and nice man and we always enjoyed talking to him.  Our deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

  I am so saddened that you are no longer on this earth to bless everyone with your smile and laugh. You were one of the strongest men I knew and you had a heart of gold. Your family was so lucky to have you as the leader and I am thankful I got to know you.

My sincere condolences to his wife and whole family. Dave will be missed by so many.  Dave has always had a smile on his face even being sick he stood strong, we will all miss him at church as well. Much love to everyone. 

Dave, you will greatly be missed. I can’t think of anything not to like about you. You were always kind to me. The funny story I remember about you is you laughing at Duanna and me as we told you about our shopping experience at the Hume Lake Country Fair  when they sell a bag for $5 and you can stuff them as full as you can with clothes and household items and the meham that goes along doing it.  There is always a crowed like Black Friday’s. You just have to get in there or you loose out.  A person has to squeeze in, you get elbowed or you elbow someone. Clothes are tossed to one another. You have to pull, tug and turn the pile of clothes over.  You laughed at us and said it sounded like we were playing a sport, like football. Dave I will also always remember the fishing and camping trips with you, Duanna and your families. Jeff really liked you, Duanna and your families and so do I.  Enjoy Heaven cuz it ain’t like the world now. Tell Jeff hi for me and that I miss him.  

My greatest memories from an awesome time in my life..   while we were all actors and actresses. ..  singers in the church choir. ..   we had such awesome times..  my favorite is  Herzogs play..  while Dave played Herzog...   memories will last forever.......   Love you my brother from the same Father in Heaven..   

we are cousins but there was a age gap when we were younger but I remember a skinny little kid running around when I would come and visit my aunt and uncle. We reconnected on Facebook and I got to see what a great man, husband, and father you became. I'm very honored and proud of who you became and I know your Parents Bill and Sharon would be too. Your with them and your sisters now having a big hallelujah meeting. Will be looking forward to when we meet again. God Bless.. Love you Cuz  

Wow it has been 4 yrs. from when we meet. Our children  were engaged and married.  I have learned alot in such a short time.  From putting an engagement party  together,  to throwing the wedding of a lifetime.  Thank you and your beautiful bride for all the life's you have touched.

I fell in love with you in 1986, I walked into love with you, with my eyes wide open, choosing to take every step along the way with you. When I first saw you I knew.
I do believe in fate and destiny, But I also believe we are only fated to do the things that we'd choose anyway.
If I did anything right in my life, It was when I gave my heart to you 32 years ago. I wish I could turn back the clock so I could have you longer. Taking your last name gave us an eternal bond between each other. You were my Rock, My Warrior, my husband, my best friend and soul mate. You were the man who fought for my honor and you kept me standing tall. I will forever be blessed for all you did for me and our family. I've seen the way you love others and the struggle to love yourself. I seen how hard your dedication was to heal and beat this beast called Cancer and together we faced this Giant. I see you, and I love what I see. God Blessed you with a strong spirit. You laugh even if you didn't feel like it. You were a giving man and if you didn't have it, you would always come up with something. You Never gave up and that's what makes you my Warrior.
You Never Never quit! No matter what life threw our way, no matter how unfair it seemed, you refused to play the victim. Refused to be  ruled by fear, pessimism, and negativity. You were always our Warrior and worked through whatever life threw our way with courage, love, and positivity. You were always in the hammer lane. You had a brainstorm and pushed forward. 
We'll live forever knowing together that we did it all for the glory of love. To my husband, I choose you and I'll choose you over and over without pause, without a doubt, In a heartbeat. The day has arrived that there will be no more tomorrows for us and you will NEVER be forgotten and will Always be deeply loved by me.
