David Anthony Scida

Dave's family moved to Santa Monica where, as a boy, he attended school, enjoyed surfing and playing sports. For the past 20 years, Dave lived in his beautiful home in rural Sanger.

Dave touched many lives. He was well known as a character and fully enjoyed life. He would focus completely on whatever interested him at the time, whether it was woodworking, welding, rebuilding automobiles, camping, traveling or photography. He especially enjoyed spending time with his many dogs and pets.

It was with great joy that Dave accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and his faith comforted him during his illness.

He worked as a Systems Analyst for many years with GESCO, Fiserv, Fresno County and Decade Software. Dave also operated RYCO Crating Company.

Dave's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the excellent staff and caregivers at California Oncology and Hinds Hospice for the wonderful care and support.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mary Petrucci Berger and Dianna Scida; and his brother, Alan Scida.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Robbin Elser Scida; his son, Zac Scida and his wife Jessica; his brother, John Scida and his wife Sandra; his sister, Joanne Nelson and her husband Ray; a life long friend, Brian Ray; as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his many, many friends.

A celebration of Dave's life will be held at Northpark Community Church, 2297 E. Shepherd Ave., Fresno, Ca., 93720, on Monday, December 12, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. In honor of Dave, please dress casually. Jeans are preferred.
