David Price Jr.

David Price, Jr., 97, had a great smile, a wonderful sense of humor, and a big heart. He loved and was loved by all his family and friends and will be greatly missed. He was a native Fresno County, born July 18, 1914, to Volga-German emigrants, David Sr. and Molly Mertz Price.

He graduated from Locan Grammar School and Sanger High School. He was married to Mary Geringer for 51 1/2 wonderful years. Throughout his life, David was a farmer, an independent grocer, a charter member of the Grocery Clerks Union 1288, a real estate broker/insurance agent, and retired as Sr. District Manager for Fresno Housing Authority. He was active and or on Boards of Twilight Haven, Fresno-Madera Council on Aging, Edison Social Club, Fresno Senior Center, and the Cross Church.

He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Molly Lauck, Marie Steitz, and Emma Price; his cherished wife, Mary; and his special friend Martha Bier.

David is survived by his children, Marsha Schlotthauer, Davina and her husband George Roeder; and David III and his wife Eliz- abeth Price; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.

Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home, 1605 L St., Fresno, on Friday, November 11, 2011, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Services will be held at North Pointe Community Church, 4625 W. Palo Alto Ave., Fresno, on Saturday., November 12, at 11:00 a.m., with internment at Fresno Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
