Beverly Link Beacom was born on December 6,1941, in Dyersville, Iowa, to Walter D. and Virginia Link. After graduation from high school, she attended Mount Mercy Nursing School in Cedar Rapids, IA and graduated in 1962. In 1963, while working at Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN, she met and married John M. "Jack" Beacom. During their eight year stay in Minneapolis, their two children, Kellanne and Dan were born. The family moved to Fresno, CA in 1972, when Jack's employment began at The Fresno Bee. Beverly worked as a registered nurse in the labor and delivery departments for both Fresno Community Hospital and then Saint Agnes Medical Center. Beverly received her Nurse Practitioner degree while being employed at Doctors. William Duprey and Mort Rosenstein's office. She later worked as an RN/NP for Drs. M. Warren; the Linder Quan Medical Group; Dr. Mason; and Dr. Gary Matson. Beverly loved to travel and she and Jack visited China, Thailand, and most of Europe. She was athletic and enjoyed snow skiing, playing tennis, and roller blade skating. Having been raised in a Catholic family, her Christian faith has always been a source of strength for her, especially during her lengthy illness. She and Jack are one of the founding members of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fresno. Beverly is survived by Jack, her husband of 51 years; her daughter, Kellanne Kopp and husband Mike; her son, Dan Beacom and wife Michele; her three grandchildren, Cameron and Mackenzie Kopp, and Jacob Beacom; sisters, Jenne Naderman, and Sheila Murphy and her husband Tim; and brother, Walter Link and wife Kathy. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Monday, January 26, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to Catholic Charities; or Hinds Hospice.
