Betty was more than a wife, a mother, a grandmother or a great grandmother… she was also from TEXAS and proud of it! Her FAITH was everything to her and GOD came first always! She was born to JW and Cleo Sinor & the sister to six other siblings. She was also a Cancer Survivor! She spent the majority of her career with Home Interiors and was a sought-after personal decorator to many. Just when we all thought she was ready to retire, she decided she wanted to sell women’s fashions which was natural for her, being the fashionista that she was! She also loved selling healing-herbs and feeling like she was making a difference in people's lives, and she was!
For years She opened her home & her heart to foreign exchange students to help connect cultures, for which she received awards through the Fresno State University program. Betty was outgoing and energetic, never a dull moment. In her earlier years she loved to plan luaus and parties in her backyard with her roommate and best friend, Aleta.
Family was always Important to her… The holidays were always celebrated with family and friends, she always said the more the merrier and that her door was also open to anyone that didn’t have a place to go. Betty had a heart of gold! She made sure to go and visit those who were in retirement homes that didn’t have anyone coming to visit, she would even do fashion shows for all the women there. Peoples Church was her long-time church home where she was also involved in a ministry that took her to the women’s prison, where she was able to witness and love on those who were all alone. She was always reaching out to others just to let them know that they mattered…
In her early fifties, she married the final love of her life, Jim Perkins - they were married almost 34 years & ultimately their long-time church home became Calvary Worship Center where they loved their church family. Betty had 3 children and a special son-in-law (Deborah & Jim, Burt Jr.- Who went home to heaven just this last February, and Patty, being the youngest. Betty leaves behind her husband, Jim Perkins, 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren, along with 4 stepdaughters, their children and their children’s children. Today we honor HER while we celebrate her life & Legacy.
We will miss you, Betty!
