Betty Jean has always been active in community activities. She was the past president of the PTA and the LARCS. While at San Joaquin Gardens, she enjoyed participating in the various social activities there. She loved to play bridge. She also loved music, especially the piano. Betty Jean has travelled all over the world, and even Antarctica.
She married Dr. George F. Whitworth, and later Wesley Rose, who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Kathleen; and her infant son David.
Betty Jean is survived by her sons, George "Rick" F. Whitworth V and his wife Doreen, and Paul R. Whitworth and his wife Gina; her grandchildren, Dan Schrager, Lisa Lyons, and Wes Segura; and her great-grandchildren, Zachary, Kathy, Quinn and Carson.
A Memorial Service will be held at University Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 3:00 p.m.
