Bertha was born on June 25, 1943, in Canutillo, TX to Albino Frietze and Antonia Acosta. Her children remember her as a kind mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Bertha was generous, cheerful, and an individual who loved to crochet and who was passionate about cooking, celebrating with family, friends and loved to dance. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother.
"Bertha would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can't refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, crocheting and cooking to her heart's content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. She left detailed instructions for her children to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed."
The family would like to thank her caregiver Tula, and aunt Mayma for their efforts, care, and dedication to our loving mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albino Frietze, and Antonia Acosta of Texas; and stepmother, Guadalupe Chavez-Frietze of Texas.
Bertha is survived by her children, Rochelle Valverde, and Patrick Gallardo; son-in-law, Edward Spradlin; daughter-in-law, Michelle Gallardo; four grandchildren, Destiny Garcia, Damian Barci, Patrick Gallardo II, and Nikko Gallardo; siblings, Manuel Leyva, Georgina Ramirez; and step-sisters, Martina Calderon, and Jesusita Franco.
A Funeral Service will be held at Tinkler Funeral Chapel & Crematory on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at 6:00p.m. with a reception to follow. Pastor Tom Salazar will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bertha's life.
