Fresno, California – Barbara Roseen, 90, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 1, 2023. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Barbara was born on November 3, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Ralph and Helen Boid. She spent her younger years riding horses at the family’s country home. Barbara attended North Park High School and North Park College where she met the love of her life, Howard Roseen. They were married in 1952 and moved to California that Fall so that Howard could pursue his golfing career. The couple lived in Burbank for 5 years and then moved to Bakersfield. In 1964, Barbara and Howard moved to Madera where they would raise their family.
Barbara worked as a book keeper at Peregoy Accounting, Lucca’s Restaurant, and Fourth Street Church of God. Barbara was active teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, and gardening.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 70 wonderful years, Howard, son Gary Roseen and his fiancé Kimberly, daughter Diane Phelps and husband Michael. Barbara had a special place in her heart for her granddaughters and great granddaughters. She is survived by Candace Schacherbauer and husband Dave, Colleen Roseen, Dana Sharp and husband Derek, Bethany Watje and husband Steven, Megan Youpel and husband Nicolas, and great granddaughters Juliette Sharp and Ada Youpel. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Norma Boid, her nephews, David Boid and Jim Boid, and her niece, Linda Beck. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Boid, and her sister Justine Nantelle.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 30 at 11:00 AM at Northpointe Community Church, 4625 West Palo Alto Avenue, Fresno, CA 93722.
