After completing his primary and secondary studies in Reino and Benevento, he moved to the United States in 1960. Tony began studying English at Fresno City College, upon his arrival in Fresno. During this time, Tony was the Italian disc jockey and produced the "Italian Hour" on Sunday mornings in the 1960s. During a fateful, family visit, Tony met his wife Madeline; they were married at St. John's Cathedral in 1964.
Upon completing his education in Civil Engineering at Fresno State College, Tony worked at all the major engineering firms during the 1970s, and began his life long career in the 1980s for the Development and Engineering Department of the County of Fresno. Tony retired in 2002.
For the last eight years, Tony has been under the loving care of the Sisters and staff at the Nazareth House, until his peaceful passing on April 3, 2013.
Tony is survived by Madeline, his loving wife; his daughter, Mariangela "Mimi" Fanucchi and her husband Eddie, and their children, Luca and Sofia; his son, Anthony "Nino" Tosto and his wife Kara, and their children, Kaya and Anthony "Nesta".
Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Monday, April 8, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. followed by entombment at St. Peter's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in the name of Tony's memory to the Nazareth House, 2121 North First Street, Fresno, Ca. 93703.
