I met Anthony at Ascot Park at the sprint car races. To say he was exciting was putting it quite mildly, he only do one thing and that was wide open. He had beautiful cars but he drove them like they were junk, flat out was all he knew. Sorry to hear he had passed my condolences to his entire family, he was kind to me and that’s all that matters to me. Rest in peace Anthony you gassed it hard and hung it up wet!

Reminiscing on all the fun times I had because of this man!  I'll never forget this one time at the Simone's party,I believe we were celebrating Anthony and Margie's birthday, Margie and I were on the trampoline each in one of her little brother Mauro's toy cars that we managed to squeeze into!  When all of a sudden to our surprise here comes Margie's dad,Anthony, and as he climbed up on that trampoline I'm thinking ,"oh man, this is probably gonna hurt" and he started jumping as high as he could.  His face lit up with joy, with his contagious smile, so did ours as  we went tumbling  about. Anthony had a way about him to push you to the limit ,and in that moment your fear turns into a thrill rush ! I had some of the best times of my life that I will cherish for the rest of my life ! He was always a big kid at heart !  Here he is volunteering as Santa as he would every year ,and hand out toys to all the kids. I hope we can all live our lives more like Anthony ! Life's too short not to be having the time of your life everyday. Thanks for all the great memories, Mr.Excitement . In loving memory of

My Prayers to Anthony and his family🙏I will always be happy to know that I was able to watch Anthony race for years with my father and even more so that I was able to race with Anthony as well. He was a fearless racer foot always through the floorboard rarely ever lifting , People thought he was crazy and I as well however one can not denye that he kept us all in awe of his relentless will to win and if he didnt win he gave it his all and he never gave less than 11O%. Anthony Simone is not a name in racing in California that will be forgotten. If you were into racing any type cars in California then you certainly must have heard the name (Anthony Simone).He was of (Legend) status and will remain so for eternity. God Bless you Anthony may you (RIP).🙏

To the Family of Tony--
I share your sorrow at the passing of your family member.  Tony was a unique individual and I had met Tony through boat racing.  Ed Hyder and  Kenny West were dear friends of mine.  And, of course, Tony hung out with that group of characters.  He definitely stood on the gas.  I never got to see him race his sprint car, but did hear stories from a friend of mine who does a lot of photography at racing events.

Brother  Anthony,  I can hear the throngs of fans cheering you on to the final finish line  I was always proud that you wanted me behind you at the start, be it in the pits, race start, or at your tail when you were spun out in the middle of a race.  Your #10 was a favorite many. And now you have run your winningest race of life.  And you have WON in the race for Heaven as the Finish Line.

I met Anthony about twenty years ago, Although I haven’t talked to him in the last ten years I will never forget him and his wild ways he was best party buddy that ever was!

I met Anthony when I was 12 years old. He was my older brothers friend from high school, our family instantly fell in love with him and he became part of our family. Anthony was like a brother to me. I could always count on him to tell me when I was getting fat. When my husband died he stepped in as a big brother. Jennifer I know your loss is so great, you have wonderful memories to cherish forever. He will forever be with you, Margie Maro and Tony. He will be missed by so many especially by me and my family. Memories never die. 

All my best to you all. Anthony always lit up the club, brought a laugh and was a generous soul. Salud. 

I'm sorry to hear about Anthony's passing.  My dad painted many of the black #10 cars back in the 80's.  I grew up watching Anthony race and hearing stories of his wild times on and off the track. Anthony was definitely a legend in racing and life.  
  I was at a Kenny West Memorial race at Hanford sitting with Mel & Maxine West. Anthony was off the track in every turn then he would  pull a wheelie down the straightaway.  Later in the pits when asked why he didn't let up with a big grin he said because "The Kid's Love It".  And for sure we all did.

Our condolences to Jennifer and the family. We go way back in friendship with Anthony and the Simone Family.  We will never forget all the great times.  Loyal as they come. In the latter years always checked on Marie and Loraine after Larry and Bobby passed away. He always said those boys were good to me, well Hoss you were good to all of us. We will miss you. For several years I spent almost every day with Anthony. He was really one of a kind, never to be replicated. The daily lunches at the Landmark or the Limelight with Anthony, his dad, Barney and Ron Croft, and Bill McPike would go for hours, and it always seemed that when it came time to roll the dice to see who was paying it ended up being me. These are priceless memories.
Anthony was one of the most honest people I ever knew. You never had to wonder for long what was on his mind. If it concerned him he wasted no time in telling you directly.
The last few years I saw him infrequently, but it always started with a hug  and  giving each a hard time about getting old.
I am going to miss him and I truly regret that we are never going to cross paths again. Rest in peace old friend.

I was shocked when my daughter sent me Anthony's Obituary. Tony Chariton n I had a home on the Coast n Anthony would stay with us after the races. He had "no -fear" when he was in his Sprinter n will never forget when he got air born at the race that night. Anthony was a loving, giving man and though it has been years since I last saw him at a Super Bowl party, I will never forget Anthony. I wish I could be there to celebrate his life, but I live in Florida now n unable to make the trip with this COVID. God Bless you my friend n rest in Peace.

So sorry to hear of Anthonys passing. I haven't seen him for 30 years but he was someone you never forget. My condolences to his wife, Jennifer and kids, and his extended family. Rest in peace buddy .

I must have been hiding under a rock as I was saddened to find out yesterday about  the legend passing. When I started working in the ag industry everybody would ask me if I was related to Anthony. Finally in 2001 I had the pleasure of meeting the legend at a basque restaurant in Fresno.  Over the years we’d continue to frequent the basque restaurants and visit with Anthony. He was always great to see, and listen to his stories.  He always had his characteristic smile.  He would always tell me, “keep it low and under the radar buddy.“  Anthony was there for me when I had some personal issues, and offered to help if necessary, what a guy. Jennifer your truly a special lady who always was there to support your special husband Anthony. May God bless you and your family during these difficult times.  Anthony is dearly missed.  


Will be missed! Never forget when you, my dad, and the gang ran Sprints in Santa Maria. Loved that time...at least I have the memories and stories! Rest In Peace, Anthony.

Sadly, we met Anthony only twice and looked forward to getting to know him and Jennifer better in all the years we thought we had ahead.  He welcomed our son AJ into the Simone family and we were so fortunate to have been with them recently celebrating   Margie and AJ’s engagement.  Anthony was so proud and happy that evening.  We are grateful for that memory of him that we will keep and treasure.  Jennifer, Margie and Mauro: you are in our prayers at this difficult time.    


He was my life long hero my dad watch anthony grow up him david key and my cousin Steven jacoby went to central high school together.  My dad would tell me stories of how anythony was a 7 foot tall man in a short mans body. He had no fear.  He would give me goose bumps everythime is seen him. He was my john wayne.  I got to talk with him back in 2008 and i told him he was my childhood hero he then said damn man iam no hero . I said to me you are and always will be so can i ha e your autograph . He gave it to me then i told him my name and he remembered my dad and uncle and cousin. He will be forever missed and loved . 

My wife and I are saddened to find out that Anthony is gone, he was what I would describe as bigger than life. My wife always would tell me when she was traveling into Fresno on shields avenue, that Anthony would see her in her car any always would be waving with both hands to get her recognition. I have got to say for myself, that Anthony was one of those guys that you would truly call your friend, he would go out of his way to help you. We will truly miss him and never forget him. I met Anthony in 1965 I think. I had a girl friend at Central High I was a Fowler High guy. Anthony was playing on her which made us enemies.  It worked it self out, she married my bother. In later days we would run in to each other on Belmont or at Ara's Apartments.  Both being car guys, his always being much nicer than mine, we would run across each other at the races and different car events. In September of 2019 I asked Anthony if he wanted to be a member of an old Car Club from the 50's I resurrected. He was voted in as a member of the Fowler Pharaohs Car Club. Anthony was a good member. Attending nearly if not all the functions we had.  He will be sorely missed among others by the entire Pharaohs Car Club and there families.

So great ful for the opportunity to get to know you and your family. You always took time to help  anyone no matter how busy you were . You will greatly be missed .thank you for everything .

I’m so sorry to hear of Anthony’s passing.  Jennifer, I’m sorry I never got to meet you and I’m sure the loss you and your children feel has to be unbearable. I pray in time that peace will replace the understandable deep sorrow you feel.  Rena and Mauro I pray your hearts will find peace in this difficult time and know your dear brother was loved by so many.  He certainly was giant of a man and a true legend now in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.  Gone for now, but forever in our hearts. My Mom and Dad always enjoyed Anthony’s company and they and many other loved ones gone before Anthony will be welcoming him home and surrounding him with love.

They have been buddies for a long time and families have close ties. Anthony was a true friend to Tommy for a long time.

Last time I saw my cousin Anthony and his family was at my fathers funeral (Very respectable).
I told him, “he looked great.” You would never know Anthony mangled his body multiple times racing. He was a rock and as stoic as they come.  God Bless Anthony and his family.



Anthony was one of the nicest people to know.  Always willing to hear what you had to say and laugh.  He treated me and my family like family.

I met Anthony when he came to Bullard High from Central High in about 1968. He had a purple corvette and liked to spin it in circles. I had worked for his Uncles - Pasco, Frank, and his Dad Tony. We we went through the Ara's Apartment and Forum nights. Anyway friends from way back and he was a great person to know. Last time I spoke to him he sounded strong and in good spirits. I wanted his advice about buying some rock and having it delivered. We were going to get together when the virus closures got back to normal. 

The last time I saw him was at Neil Averill's Memorial Service on 4/20/19, when he came up to me and we shared an old friend's hug and I tweaked or twisted both sides of Anthony's moustache. I told him, "I bet not too many people would try that." We had a good laugh and talked about old times. I reminded him about that on the phone.

I became very close friends with his Dad - Tony aka Mr. FIG - and Tony and I had lunch 5 days a week for over ten (10) years until his poor health prevented that. Tony was like another Dad. Anthony and I talked a lot about missing his Dad and things we remembered.

The last time I went to the office to visit with Anthony, Mauro, & Margaret was maybe 10 years ago and I couldn't even get a fig.

Anthony and Jennifer Simone were the most loving and happiest couple I’ve ever met. They always made you feel welcome.  There was always fun to be had.  They never forgot a face and we’re always happy.  I feel so sorry for jennifer and  kids and family.  My prayers are with all of you.  If there is anything I can do please call me 559-352-8182.  Jennifer please call even if u just want to talk!  I hope you accept my offer.  Lov you and hope you call me !!!!
